Extra Curricular

At Brookdale, across the year, we offer a number of extra-curricular clubs that take place before school, at lunchtime, or after school. Letters for these clubs will be sent out at the appropriate time, along with the booking details.

The list of clubs is only a starting point, as there are more added throughout the year based on pupil voice.

Enrichment

At Brookdale, enrichment is a carefully planned and important part of every child’s education. Our programme of trips, visits, visitors, performances, residentials, sporting opportunities and community projects complements the curriculum and gives children meaningful experiences beyond the classroom.

Our enrichment offer is designed to:

broaden children’s knowledge and understanding of the world
develop talents, interests and creativity
promote confidence, independence and resilience
strengthen teamwork, leadership and communication
raise aspirations and support preparation for the future
encourage active citizenship and contribution to the community.

We provide a purposeful and varied range of opportunities across arts and culture, sport and physical activity, outdoor learning and adventure, community engagement, leadership and wider life skills. Experiences are chosen carefully to build on children’s learning, reflect our school values and meet the needs and interests of our pupils.

We are committed to ensuring that every child can participate meaningfully. We consider and seek to remove financial, physical, communication and other barriers, with particular attention to disadvantaged pupils, pupils with SEND and children who may require additional support.

We listen to pupils and families, work with a wide range of partners and review participation and impact so that our offer continues to develop. The list below sets out the planned trips, visits and visitors that form part of each year group’s enrichment entitlement, alongside additional opportunities that arise during the year.
