School Meals
All our infant children have a free school meal each day. From Year 3, children can either bring in a packed lunch (prepared at home) or have a hot school dinner / deli option made by our own in-house catering team. Food that is prepared by our catering team is freshly made on-site every day, offers excellent value for money (currently £2.40 per meal) and is nutritionally sound too. Nutritional values meet national guidelines and are verified regularly by an independent consultant.
Infant Free School Meals
Children in F2, Year 1 and Year 2 are provided with a free school meal (Universal Infant Free School Meal). When your child moves to Key Stage 2 (Year 3 and beyond), you will then have to pay for a school dinner if you wish your child to carry on having one.
Junior school meals
Children in Key Stage 2 (Years 3 - 6) can have a school meal prepared for them but they will have to pay for it (£2.40 / meal) unless they are entitled to Free School Meals. Parents can pay for their children's dinners via 'Parent Pay'(Please speak to office staff for further details on 0151 677 5170).
Free School Meals
If your child qualifies for a Free School Meal (FSM) they will be able to have a meal prepared for them in school. It is important that you register for FSMs, if you are entitled to them even if your child is in the infants (Key Stage 1). For further information on FSM, please speak to our office staff.
Menus
The school menu is on a 3 week cycle but is reviewed at least once every term and so changes do occur. Please see the menus currently available below. If you would like to discuss the menu with our Catering Supervisor (Mrs McKnight), please feel free to do so by calling her on: 0151 677 5170
Our team currently cater for vegan, vegetarian, dairy-free and wheat-free diets as well as providing individual meals for some ‘fussy eaters’ with great success - this includes pupils with ASD and other sensory needs. We are also able to cater for diabetic children and those with other medical needs.
The kitchen team is open to arranging meetings with parents to discuss their child’s dietary requirements and making a plan for how we can support them to enjoy school meals.
